Hi, I’m Indi!

I’m a Northern California-based painter and mixed-media artist creating from a space of imagination, intuition, and embodied wonder. My work creates dreamlike, otherworldly environments where humans and animals exist as co-creators, inviting viewers to step beyond the ordinary and into a more expansive way of seeing and feeling the world.

Rooted in an intuitive, process-driven practice, I work primarily in acrylic paint, building richly layered surfaces through bold color, texture, and movement. My paintings often feel like portals, blending figurative abstraction with symbolic storytelling. Recently my practice has expanded to include cartonería and sculptural forms, inspired by time spent in Mexico and a growing interest in animal agency, ancestral memory, and the intelligence of the more-than-human world. These three-dimensional beings extend my painted worlds into physical space, inviting interaction, presence, and embodied experience.

Influenced by artists such as Marc Chagall and other visionary artists who treated imagination as a serious and necessary force, I see art as a way to restore wonder, joy, and curiosity in uncertain times. My work resists despair through beauty, play, and the belief that imagination is a vital tool for dreaming new futures into being.

I’ve exhibited in solo and group shows throughout Northern California and internationally, including the Tokyo International Art Fair. In 2025, I completed an artist residency in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, where I deepened my sculptural practice and connection to place. My work is held in private collections across the United States, Europe, and Japan.

I live and work in the Sierra Nevada foothills, where the land, light, and rhythms of rural life continue to shape my work. When I’m not in the studio, you’ll find me traveling, studying Spanish, and gathering around shared meals and meaningful conversations.

Born and raised in Los Angeles I grew up surrounded by the great diversity of how we can do life on this planet. After spending much of my twenties living and working in other countries, I continue to be on the lookout for chances to travel in order to reflect, grow, and learn from others so that I can contribute to creating a better world. This interconnectedness we have with each other is what makes life so incredibly fulfilling.
